- Functions:
- Plan and successfully complete
projects of significant size, scope and complexity
- Establish clear project requirements
- Develop project plans. Manage
the project schedule and work with the project team on a daily
and weekly basis to ensure timely, high-quality completion of
projects
- Create cost models, then closely
track and manage costs to ensure that projects achieve business
goals
- Analyze resource requirements
and work with functional managers to assemble in-house teams
as the business requires. Communicate project priorities to functional
managers (Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, Technical Services,
etc.)
- Work with functional managers
to resolve competing claims on resources. Work in a matrix-management
role without directly reporting staff, where functional experts
will be managed by their respective managers.
- Identify contract and temporary
resources where appropriate, minimizing impacts to internal departments
- Manage relationships with partners,
suppliers, and sub-contractors
- Proactively manage risk, changes,
and communications to project stakeholders, dealing with roadblocks,
dependencies, and conflicting priorities.
- Report regularly on schedules,
expenditures, progress, issues, and opportunities
- Provide customer feedback to
the company and the product development team
- Strengthen business relationships
with customers
- Work with Sales to manage customer
expectations regarding delivery, quality, and functionality,
and to overcome customer objections and obstacles
- Drive to superior customer satisfaction
- Strong communications skills,
both writing and speaking. Ability to clearly communicate project
progress and technical details to customers and clearly communicate
customer requirements, assumptions and requests to project team
members. Must communicate well with peers, managers, and executives.

- Minimum of 7 years of project
management leadership
- Project management experience
in new product development
- Technical or project experience
in one or more of:
- Software development (PM experience
in this area is especially desired)
- Mechanical Engineering
- Telecommunications / IT systems
engineering and networking
- Experience managing projects
for multiple clients simultaneously
- Extensive training and/or experience
with project management principles, methods, process, and tools
- Experience maintaining a high
level of professionalism and "grace under pressure"
- Experience driving business
with little supervision
- A track record of delivering
on agreed project objectives
- Experience with project cost
estimation
- Experience with startup environments
and "new product introduction" processes
