The Consulting Senior Manager leads engagements relating to electronic discovery and technology business process consulting. The Senior Manager is responsible for directing consulting teams advising large, multi-national corporations seeking reductions in the costs and risks of preparing for and conducting discovery while maintaining management control over the discovery process.

This role is part of an entrepreneurial team, building upon our expertise and experience to continue the growth in consulting services. The successful applicant is someone who thrives in a flexible, evolving and multi-tasking environment and is adept at utilizing his or her industry acumen and strong customer relationship skills in a client-facing role leading consulting teams.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Lead client engagements, including assessing client's current discovery practices, identifying gaps (impacting time, cost and risk) in those practices, analyzing alternatives, and developing and implementing tangible and actionable strategies and business processes to address those gaps.
  • Guide corporate general counsel and corporate IT executives with strategic consulting around establishing protocols for discovery response planning as an industry expert and trusted advisor.
  • Prepare and present business process framework documents that outline business requirements for legal hold management systems, email archive systems and other technology based solutions.
  • Develop, implement and embed comprehensive discovery response plans for Fortune 500 corporations involved in high visibility litigation.
  • Establish new business process approaches for managing the discovery lifecycle based on industry standards such as the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM), Six Sigma, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), and the Capability Maturity Model (CMM).
  • Direct the discovery response process of complex matters such as SEC second requests, regulatory compliance and governmental investigations, class action, product liability & other civil litigation matters.
  • Evaluate and research current and emerging legal technology and IT trends, including information technologies utilized for information management and related infrastructure, content and e-mail management, search and information retrieval, records management, electronic discovery, and litigation and practice support.
  • Assist in development of new business opportunities by preparing and delivering presentations and proposals to clients and the public.
  • Provide professional, clear, unambiguous, and complete written and verbal communication that ensures that the intended audience receives information appropriately;
  • The following is a general breakdown of activities:
    • 65% of the time devoted to leading project teams delivering consulting engagements;
    • 20% of the time devoted to business development including leading presentations and drafting proposals;
    • 15% of the time devoted to developing methodologies and researching emerging trends and technologies

 Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience: 

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required
  • 4 to 6 years experience in one or more of the following: electronic discovery, business process consulting, consulting project management, records management or technology consulting;
  • Expert knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas: electronic discovery, litigation support, business process consulting, records management, content management, email archiving, IT system management, or business process integration
  • The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and will be driven to exceed customer and project goals, while contributing to a successful team and dealing with a wide variety of competing demands
  • Advanced written and oral communication, presentation, problem-solving, project management, and relationship building skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse spectrum of individuals, including Legal, Records Management and IT staff;
  • Software application proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including MS PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Visio;
