Position Description:

 

Use your knowledge of distributed application development and expertise to solve problems in the installation and ongoing use of solutions in customer applications. Customer interaction is typically with technically savvy engineers using company products in complex business systems. You will provide assistance to these customers in optimizing their applications for effective use of products. These efforts could include diagnosing performance and disk/memory utilization issues, assisting customers in debugging and optimizing their applications, and writing sample code to demonstrate use of interfaces using Java, C++, and C#.

 

Responsibilities:

• Interact directly with technically savvy customers to resolve complex technical issues.
• Work closely with the Enterprise Architecture group to ensure technical solutions are in accordance with best practices for the use of company products.
• Provide sample solutions to customer inquiries, often in conjunction with the Enterprise Architecture team.
• Maintain a record of issues and solutions for feedback and knowledge dissemination to enterprise architects, product engineers, marketing, sustenance engineers, and developer web site.
• Work to develop and improve procedures and practices to increase efficiency within Sustenance Engineering.
• Possible limited travel to customers’ site to solve problems with installation or use of software.
• Cover 6:00am-3:00pm PST schedule on rotational basis.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience: 

• BS Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in the analysis, design, implementation, and debugging of distributed, data intensive, and/or object-oriented applications.
• Proficient in Java, C++, and/or C#.
• Knowledge of Linux and/or Windows systems and networks.
• Excellent analysis, trouble shooting, and communication skills.
• Experience with an object-oriented data management system is highly desirable.
