Responsibilities:
  • Actively work with customers to analyze business needs, gather and document business and system requirements
  • Perform analysis and design on small to medium application projects Identify risks in proposed project designs
  • Write detailed technical specifications for developers to follow
  • Perform business process analysis
  • Facilitate IT work estimates
  • Document use cases and closely interact with developers and QA
  • Create data flow, process flow, dimensional modeling, and relational modeling diagrams
  • Facilitate test planning, execution and user testing
  • Create and facilitating the review and approval of all project documents
  • Facilitate meetings and document outcome
  • Perform technical training when necessary
  • Develop and perform formal presentations when required
  • Understand IT processes and work within designated guidelines
  • Assist the team manager in understanding the requirements and resolving any project conflicts.
  • Perform Application Ownership Responsibilities which include:
    • Assess user needs
    • Provide customer service in an advisory role
    • Assist with user training as needed
    • Troubleshoot application problems and propose optimal resolutions
    • Responsible for optimization of system applications
    • Provide on-call support as required (may require evening and weekend work).
    • Provide best practices and application knowledge mentorship
  • Willingness to travel and On-Call are required as well as flexibility to accommodate east coast and west coast work hours.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience: 

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst.
  • Advanced MS/SQL Server 2005 experience (SQL and T-SQL)
  • Data Mart (star schema & dimensional model) knowledge and experience
  • Advanced MS Excel 2003 & 2007 (VSTO) knowledge and experience
  • Working within a structured Systems Development Life Cycle Methodology
  • Business Intelligence (end user computing, management reporting) development solutions
  • Experience writing Use Cases
  • Experience creating data flow, process flow, dimensional modeling, and relational modeling diagrams
  • Professionalism and strong communication skills are essential.
  • Must be comfortable working under the pressure of delivering quality results with schedule deadlines and must have a proven track record in meeting schedule for tasks while still meeting or exceeding business requirements and goals.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as with others on work tasks and must demonstrate initiative and ability to self-manage time and work with minimal direction.

  • MS Reporting Services experience
  • Experience with .net
  • Experience writing Cognos Reports
  • Active Server Pages (ASP) experience
  • Mainframe IMS and DB2 data access
