Position Description:

Lead Professional: Responsible for applying advanced concepts, theories, principles, and practices in a professional or technical discipline that is analytical, creative, evaluative and/or advisory in nature. Independently develops conclusions and makes recommendations on a wide variety of complex issues.
Decisions are typically only reviewed for consistency with policy, precedent and overall effectiveness.
Provides advice, guidance, direction and reviews the work of lower level professional employees

SAP application

  • Designs and develops solutions using ABAP/HTML/Java code for SAP.
    Extends standard SAP DDIC structures.
    Performs troubleshooting and ABAP/HTML/Java code performance tuning.
    Develops SAP Script/SmartForms and custom ABAP report outputs.
    Utilizes SAP User-Exits, BAPIs and BADIs to develop custom enhancements.
    Performs Modifications to SAP objects, and applies OSS Notes.
    Utilizes IDOCs, BDCs and ALEs for Data Transfer.
    Creates User Interfaces using Dialog Programming.

OR

Netweaver/BI (previously BW)

  • Designs, develops and implements solutions using standard and custom BW objects, extractors, and process chains.
  • Extends BW structures
  • Understands BW data staging and modeling implications Troubleshoots problems utilizing BW applications Implements performance improvements for BW objects Designs and implements front-end solutions using BEx Demonstrates basic BW BASIS knowledge Demonstrates basic ABAP skills Integrates BW solutions with the Enterprise Portal Utilizes Reporting Agent, Ad-hoc Query Designer, HTML Enhancements, Java/VB scripting, Style sheet, Templates, WAD Average Score, Exceptions, Web Templates, Printing, Download Scheduler, Bookmarks for report and data provisioning solutions.

Netweaver/XI

  • Facilitates complex design analysis with other integration engineers.
  • Design, develop and debug complex services.
  • Define integration best practices and standards Develop in XI development tools Perform data mapping on standard and custom message structures Working knowledge of JAVA Working knowledge of JMS Working knowledge of J2EE Working knowledge of BPEL4WS Working knowledge of XML Working knowledge of WSDL Working knowledge of Web services and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)

OR

Netweaver/Application Developer

  • Designs, develops and implements ABAP, JAVA, or Microsoft .Net code for design and runtime using the Netweaver platform.
  • Experience with SAP NetWeaver Components (Web Application Server 6.40, NetWeaver Developer Studio, Enterprise Portals, or Exchange Infrastructure)
  • Understanding of the NetWeaver Development Platform (NetWeaver Developer Studio, NetWeaver Development Infrastructure)

 

  • 25-50% Code Development & Configuration
  • Develops code for high-risk, highly-complex requirements.
  • Configures applications or systems for high-risk, highly-complex requirements.
  • Installs software and software updates for critical systems.
  • Designs and defines high-risk, highly-complex job schedules.
  • Executes and is responsible for the deployment of code across environments.
  • Approves and conducts design and code reviews.
  • Manages and facilitates cross functional issue resolution at a complex level.

Responsibilities:

20-50% Technical Design

  • Collaborate with other teams on integration needs/design.
    Contribute to database design.
  • Participate and contribute to the Client's overall architectural footprint, direction and standards.
  • Create critical-path, high-risk, advanced and/or cross-functional technical designs.
  • Ensure consistent technical approach within department.
  • Ensure vendor technical/design documents comply with business requirements and Clients corporate standards.
  • Recommend and develop proofs of concepts.
  • Provide recommendations for new engineering tools.

5-30% System Analysis

  • Perform application support, problem solving, and issue resolution with internal and external resources.
  • Contribute to technical solutions by performing technical analysis and making recommendations.
  • Reviews recommendations for technical solutions.

5-15% Project Support

  • Contributes to the RFP process.
  • Identifies technical issues and determines options for issue resolution and risk mitigation.
  • Defines and communicates requirements for technical environments.
  • Determines technical scope for projects.
  • Provides engineering task work effort estimates.
  • May manage a small to medium project

5-15% Standards & Best Practices

  • Applies architecture, governance and security standards.
  • Creates and applies global process standards to system changes and deployments.
  • Establishes, Maintains and applies coding/configuration standards and best practices.
  • Conducts research of emerging operational technologies.
  • Identifies Compliance Issue Remediation.

0-30% Testing

  • Review and approve test plans, test execution and validation of test

0-10% System Performance & Tuning -

  • Conduct performance monitoring, analyze performance against benchmarks.
  • Identify tuning/ optimization opportunities and make recommendations.
  • Implement performance remediation.
  • Create performance test scripts and execute performance tests.
  • Analyze business requirements and create performance testing scenarios that ensure application performance meets customer needs.
  • Review and approve performance test results, recommendations, and tuning results.

0-5% Functional Management

  • Provides input into business unit planning and performance metrics.
  • Participates in functional discussions and initiatives across departments.

0-5% People Management

  • Provides people leadership.
  • Participates in activities such as work planning, process development, resource optimization, employee goal setting, coaching, hiring decisions, and performance monitoring.
  • Trains and/or mentors staff.

Other: Maintains and Coordinates Production Support On Call Schedules and Responsibilities. Act as an escalation point for Production Support On Call when encountering production issues with critical path and high risk code and configuration. Escalates production issues with with cross funtional, business and/or regional impact. Participates in After Action Reviews relating to Production Issues.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience: 

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or other relevant technical area
  • Minimum Work Experience: 6 years, with 1 year in people leadership
  • Proficient with Object Oriented design principles
  • Proficient with UNIX and SQL
  • Knowledgeable about SAP Enterprise Portal
  • Knowledgeable about developing web services
