IT Business Systems Analyst (SAP)

Position Description:

Responsible for applying advanced concepts, theories, principles, and practices in a professional or technical discipline that is analytical, creative, evaluative and/or advisory in nature.

Independently develops conclusions and makes recommendations on a wide variety of complex issues. Decisions are typically only reviewed for consistency with policy, precedent and overall effectiveness. Provides advice, guidance, direction and reviews the work of lower level professional employees.

SAP application

  • Performs Configuration of SAP modules.
  • Understands application functionality and data processing in SAP and associated T-codes.
  • Implements business processes through setting up of Master Data and config.
  • Understands SAP application table structures and their relationships to data screens and reports.
  • Utilizes ABAP Query tools to perform data analysis.
  • Performs Data Mapping for IDOCs, identifies SAP provided User-exits, BAPIs and BADIs to enhance standard SAP application.
  • Performs OSS Notes search and OSS Message submission.
  • Setup SAP Batch Jobs and Variants.

OR

  • Netweaver/BI (Previously BW)
  • Configures and implements BW objects using BW Business Explorer and BW Web Application Designer.
  • Performs data modeling through BW Modeling tools
  • Designs solutions utilizing Reporting Agent, Ad-hoc Query Designer, HTML Enhancements, Java/VB scripting, Style sheet, Templates, Exceptions, Web Templates, Printing, Download Scheduler, Bookmarks

OR

  • Netweaver/Applications
  • Understands configuration of various SAP components that interact with the Netweaver platform.

Responsibilities:

30-50% Analysis & Design

  • Work with remote groups such as vendors, other Client facilities and or departments to gather and document strategic and tactical requirements from the business.
  • Performs technical analytics related to advanced data analysis, data mining, source to target mapping.
  • Create and maintain complex context process and system diagrams.
  • Performs advanced systems analysis and documents system processes.
  • Coordinate and communicate functional requirements of biz unit and technical solutions with IT capability resources by designing and documenting advanced functional specs.
  • Review and approve that the system design meets biz process requirements.
  • Collaborate on advanced technical design.
  • Perform and or advise on triage and trouble shooting activities.

10-25% Project Support

  • Works with systems personnel to implement design.
  • Communicates project status to mgmt/biz. Develops project
    plan/timeline.
  • Provides input to project and/or program mgmt.
  • Engages with Project Mgmt on Risk management.
  • Provides support to change management at department and end user level.
  • May lead small to medium size projects.

10-15% Functional Management

  • Provides input into business unit planning and performance metrics.
  • Participates in functional discussions and initiatives across departments.

10-15% Biz Consulting

  • Lead and participate in SME discussions.
  • Communicate and document system changes to biz.
  • Advocates business customers interest and requests across all relevant IT groups.
  • Reviews and audits system and process solutions.
  • Lead and assist with change management.
  • Translate system functionality into biz-relevant language.

5-15% People Management

  • Provides people leadership.
  • Participates in activities such as work planning, process development, resource optimization, employee goal setting, coaching, hiring decisions, and performance monitoring.
  • Trains and/or mentors staff.

5-15% Testing

  • Review and approve test results.
  • Oversee and or perform complex testing activities including construction of test plans/scripts including the expected results and the validation of test results.

5-15% Standards & Best Practices

  • Ensures standards, processes and policies are followed within their department.
  • Creates and applies global process standards to regional technology solutions.
  • Identifies Compliance issue remediation.
  • Performs industry research & benchmarking.
  • Conducts investigation of new operational technologies.

0-25% Config & Report Development

  • May create reports, Consult on "best practice" configuration of systems.
  • May configure packaged solutions to unique and complex business requirements.
  • Coordinates and facilitates issue resolution for cross-functional and/or complex configuration.

Communication/Language: Strong verbal and written communication skills in local market language, including meeting facilitation and presentations. Ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience: 

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or other relevant technical area
  • Minimum Work Experience: 6 years, with 1 year in people leadership
