Position Description:

The primary purpose and function of the Senior Security Engineer is to develop, maintain, and troubleshoot network and host based security solutions and systems. The Senior Security Engineer will work closely with the business to help develop and integrate security related policies and procedures.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience: 

  • Experience with various security related tools, protocols and applications including 802.1x, Syslog, Cisco IOS & Cat OS, Firewalls, NAC, IDS/IPS, Wireless security, VoIP, VPN, Two-factor authentication, End Point Security, Security Incident Management tools, Encryption Key Management, Encryption and Vulnerability Assessment and Remediation Tools required.
  • Specific knowledge of the following solutions is preferred: Cisco MARS, Cisco Security Agent, AirMagnet Enterprise IPS, RSA two-factor authentication, Nessus, Wireshark and similar tools.
  • Extensive knowledge with OSI model and internetworking protocols preferred. Direct PCI-DSS compliance experience preferred.
  • A minimum four years of relevant professional experience is required with strong knowledge of security practices & concepts and CCNP & CISSP certification preferred.
  • Demonstrate and apply solid grasp of best-practice process concepts by teaching, designing, implementing, and owning the processes.
  • Develop specifications for security equipment, software and procedures necessary for data security.
  • Monitor the network and central computing assets for the proper security procedures, software, standards compliance (e.g. PCI_DSS) and signs of compromise.
  • Analyze security requirements for various business initiatives and make specific security recommendations for implementation.
  • Develop, implement and enforce security strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Deliver security-related projects utilizing project management capabilities, and act as an effective participant on multi-discipline project teams.
  • Demonstrate excellence in the consistent execution of call handling, troubleshooting, problem recording and documentation, and other key engineer skills.
  • Utilize the change control process for notifications and outages.
  • Discover, learn and apply new skills or technologies to improve team performance or efficiency or enhance customer service.
  • Develop strategies and plans for security incident response.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
