- Position Description:
-
- The Team supports applications
that enable efficient operations of the Service Centers to manage
crossdock and linehaul operations of the company.
Most of the applications are architected using a browser based
user interface and a Cool:Gen back end. Some applications run
on IBM Mainframe batch environment, developed using COBOL, DB2,
JCL etc. Also have applications developed in Oracle Reports,
C++, interfacing with Oracle database.
- The team is in need of an additional
Cool:Gen resource to perform both enhancement and support functions
for the Cool:Gen applications supported by the team as well as
participate in an on-call rotation of the team.
- This resource will be expected
to participate in application support on-call rotation and may
be called in off-hours to resolve application issues and problems.
- Occasional travel may be required.

Required Skills, Knowledge
and Experience:
- Must have strong analysis, design,
development and testing skills and be proficient in each of the
following:
- Cool:Gen (CA AllFusion Gen)
and CBD (Component Based Development) and data modeling skills.
- Relational database skills with
a preference for either IBM DB2 or Oracle.
- TSO/ISPF, CICS, DB2, JCL, COBOL
and IBM mainframe (MVS) environment.
- Must have the following skills:
- 3+ years analysis and development.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems.
- Ability to exercise good judgment,
decision making and creativity.
- Ability to readily grasp complex
architectural environments.
- Ability to work from general
direction in the development of detailed solutions.
- Must enjoy assisting others
in supporting project needs.
- Good organizational skills.
- Experience with software development
life cycle.
Desired Skills, Knowledge
and Experience:
- Familiarity with Client Freight
operations applications Experience with TIBCO Experience using
Mercury testing tools (i.e. TestDirector/Quality Center, Quicktest
and LoadRunner).
- Experience with Oracle Database
- Familiarity with Java/J2EE
